5 Tips to Get Your Business Ready for 2019

The new year is the perfect time to review your business, your plans, and your goals so that you can set up your business for growth in 2019. But, with so much happening at this time of year, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the “should-do’s” and well, then, nothing happens at all. So here are five tips for what you can focus on in your business to get you 2019-ready.

#1. Declutter & Organise

A clean desk, office space, workspace, house, pantry, cupboard… all of it can help you declutter your mind so that you feel refreshed for the new year.

Clutter has a definite impact on your psyche and your ability to think clearly, so before the year is over, take some time to declutter whatever space is weighing you down, whether it is related to your home or to your work.

If you start the new year with a clean space around you, you will feel like you’re ready to take on the world - we promise!

#2. Review the Past Year

It’s important not to dwell on the past, but it is also equally important to review it and take whatever lessons you can from your past year in business.

So take some time to reflect - what have you learned, what did you try that worked, what did you try that didn’t work…? Then take those lessons and use them to look forward, to step three.

#3. Update your Business Plan

Take your 2018 lessons and use them to update your business plan. Or to write a business plan if you don’t already have one. This can be a time-consuming task, but it is one that is definitely worth the time and energy.

With your lessons from the past year still fresh in your mind, use that to re-evaluate your business vision and goals. Visualise how you want your business to grow in 2019, set your goals for the year, and plan how you’re going to reach them. Also, take some time to work out your 2019 marketing goals and activities. So, then when January rolls around, you already have a plan in place and you can hit the ground running.

#4. Get a Planner

We’re a bit old school still, and we love ourselves a bit of paper, and that is why we’re absolutely in love with the Leaders In Heels Planners. Sorry boys, but they are designed for women. Hello ladies - these planners are gorg! And they are perfect for putting your visualisations and goals down on paper and mapping out how you’re going to achieve them.

#5. Take Time Out

The last few months of the year are always so hectic, and depending on how many rellies you have staying with you over Christmas, you could land up feeling burnt out before the new year has even started. So make sure you also prioritise some “you” time over the holiday season.

Where you can, get ahead on your business so that you feel like you can have some downtime - plan your content ahead of time, schedule your social media in advance, or outsource some of the workload so you don’t feel like you have to do it all yourself.

This will help you finish the year on a strong point with your business, as well as get you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle 2019 when the new year starts.
